Set three goals that are achievable but still stretch you, and do everything you can to ensure that you accomplish those goals.
In all the shuffle of writing the 30 Day Music Challenge, moving to a .net, and creating a new look to the blog I lost track on my Nomatic Activities. One activity that I really wanted to attempt was the one posted above.
*As a reminder, Nomatic activites are found in my awesome Nomatic Planner my friend Meg bought me.
This planner is loaded with a different activity each week, all very positive or helpful for setting goals.
- Drink more water
- No alcohol on weekdays
- Stretch more
1. We all need to drink more water. Our bodies are made up of 50%-75% water. It’s good for healthy looking skin, keeps headaches at bay, and many times we confuse thirst for hunger and over eat (resulting in weight gain). I recently took a test online to determine how much my water intake should be. Every person is different, those who work out more need more water. Since I am not a huge work out person my results told me I should drink around 80 oz a day. I bought an adorable bottle by Simple Modern on Amazon, they come in a variety of sizes and colors, an one deal on Amazon gives you two different types of lids. I got mine in an adorable teal color (duh!) as a 22 oz for less than $20. You can buy additional lids separately that also come in a variety of colors so you can create your own color combo with your water bottle.
2. Alcohol contains a lot of calories, and during the week I am not as active as I should be. I sit at a desk when I work an I probably get about 30 minutes of walking in during my 8 hour shift. However, during the weekend I am much more active. Usually my Saturdays or Sundays are spent cleaning my apartment so I’m constantly moving around the house and getting a pretty good sweat going before I finish up in the bathroom and take a shower. I want to see how much weight I could lose by cutting out the liquid calories and see how much money we’ll save skipping the drinks when we go out to dinner.
3. Next is the stretching an I get horrible cramps in my hips! Stretching is very important. If you don’t stretch while you’re young you will feel it when you’re older. Don’t skip stretching because your body is sore, that’s when it needs it the most. Pain is your bodies way of telling you something is wrong and you don’t want to ignore that. If you stretch a part of your body and feel the pain, you needed it. Don’t use the excuse of “it just hurt too much”, and of course, don’t over do it.
